This month’s Change for Charities is going to the Guilford Food Bank.

Guilford Food Bank (GFB) is an emergency food pantry formed in 1995. It is jointly managed by Guilford Interfaith Volunteers and the Town of Guilford’s Department of Social Services (GSS). The GFB is available to Guilford residents with pre-approval from Guilford Social Services. Questions regarding eligibility should be directed to Guilford Social Services at 203-453-8009, Questions regarding volunteering, donations, and food drive events may be directed to GSS at 203-453-8009 or GIV at 203-453-8359.

The Food Bank is located at:
45 Stone House Lane, Guilford
(across from the Henry Whitfield State Museum)

Food Distribution
Distribution hours are:

Fridays, 3:00 PM – 4:30 PM
Saturdays, 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM

Bags of non-perishable food are pre-packed according to household size. Perishable food, cleaning supplies and toiletries are also available upon request.

The Shattuck Fund purchases fresh fruits and vegetables for Food Bank recipients.

Each summer, The Len Hubbard Community Garden donates plots that are tended to and harvested by community volunteers specifically to raise fresh vegetables and herbs for the Guilford residents making use of the GFB.
